Saturday morning, let’s go to eat breakfast 🥞 @Tokyo (English Version)

Here are some of the restaurants we actually visited in the Tokyo area and the breakfast menus (morning menus) we ate there!

【Kiyosumi-shirakawa】Eating an elegant mixed plate with prosciutto/avocado/cheese for breakfast at iki Roastery & Eatery.

I visited “iki Roastery & Eatery” for morning breakfast after hearing about a stylish café & bakery in a renovated warehouse along the Sumida River.

Visit the restaurant

It is located in a residential area along the Sumida River, about a 10-minute walk from Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station on the Toei Subway/Tokyo Metro. We arrived around 9:30 a.m., which is the opening time plus one and a half hours. There was no waiting line in front of the restaurant and we were able to enter immediately, but the restaurant was very popular with several customers during the few minutes we waited in front of the restaurant.

There is no morning menu. You can choose your own breakfast from the existing menu.

There are quite a few. Only the main food and drinks are written down.

Actual meal

After staring at the menu list and having a hard time deciding, I decided to have this combination.

  • Mixed plate: 1,700 yen
  • Mocha (ice cream): 830 yen

Detailed impressions are below.

  • Mixed Plate.
    • One plate has toast, avocado, tomato, boiled egg, lemon, cheese, and ham.
    • Tomatoes and avocado are very fresh. The prosciutto tastes great with the cheese. The toast has a savory wheat aroma.
    • Each on the plate is very tasty 😋.

  • Mocha(ice cream)
    • It tasted like chocolate and coffee ☕. (Sorry, I don't know what coffee tastes like.)
    • I think the reason why it soaked into my five guts is because I was on the verge of downing after walking under the blazing sun.

As the café was created by renovating a warehouse, it was a very stylish place with high ceilings and a sense of openness. Although the interior space is spacious, it is well air-conditioned, making it a comfortable place to spend time.
I thought this extraordinary feeling was a very good place to go on a holiday morning.

I ate the mixed plate ingredients one at a time this time, but it was wrong. *
It was only after I finished eating that I realized that it was supposed to be served on toast with cheese and other stuff on top.

Note

It was a painful mistake to pass up the delicious-looking breads in the showcase next to the cash register. If you look closely, you will see that there are some breads that are not listed on the menu. I should have chosen from the actual bread in front of me instead of staring at the menu.

I wrote down the breads from the showcase as a reference. It looks really delicious from the outside. I will eat this one next time.
