Saturday morning, let’s go to eat breakfast 🥞 @Tokyo (English Version)

Here are some of the restaurants we actually visited in the Tokyo area and the breakfast menus (morning menus) we ate there!

【Meguro】 Have a chewy bebe bread morning at les joues de BéBé 🥖.(レ ジュウ ドゥ ベベ)

I went to “les joues de BéBé”é(レ ジュウ ドゥ ベベ)after hearing about a bakery-cafe☕ in Meguro that serves authentic (or rather, real) French-style bread🥖.

Visit the restaurant

We arrived at 8:25 (about 30 minutes after opening time). At this point, there were about 3 groups in line, and we waited in front of the restaurant after getting a number tag from the waiter inside the restaurant.
While we were waiting, the waiter offered us cold oolong tea. We really appreciated it because the sun was shining so strongly that we were sweating upon arrival.

If you want to enter the restaurant without standing in line, it would be better to go from 8:00 a.m., which is the opening time.

This is the menu that was offered on the day of the event.

    • See photos for bread combinations (too many to write down)

Actual meal

The menu we ate that day is below. Order at your seat and wait for a while, then the waiter will bring it to you.

  • Four kinds of bread set: 800 yen
    • BéBé bread
    • Pan complecte
    • Pan Brioche
    • Tartine of the day
  • Seasonal soup set: 200 yen

I believe the Tartine of the Day was bacon and potatoes, but I don't remember for sure. Sorry.

Detailed impressions are below.

  • BéBé Bread.
    • The texture is uniquely chewy. The slight saltiness went well with the dough. It was already seasoned, so there was no need to add jam or anything else.
    • The bread was the embodiment of “chewy bread like a baby's cheeks” as stated on the store's website.
  • Pancomplex
    • It tastes organic. Simple? Or should I say “rustic”? It was like the whole grain bread you can find in natural food stores.
  • Pan Brioche
    • It was a buttery bread with a strong dough taste. The flavor is enhanced by the jam that comes with the bread.
  • Tartine of the Day

    • This is a so-called “side dish” bread. It was not overly flavored with seasonings, but rather the ingredients were the real winner.
  • Soup

    • I think it was a potage soup. I don't remember the details. I'm sorry. I am sure it was delicious.

If you order the set of four kinds of bread, you can also get jams, etc. to put on the bread.

The jams and other items included the following

  • Two kinds of seasonal jams
    • Blueberry jam
    • Strawberry jam
    • Whipped butter
    • Peanut butter
    • Chocolate cream

It had the atmosphere of a bakery with an eat-in corner rather than a cafe. A bench-like space with cushions was also set up in front of the store, which looked like terrace seating. We arrived at 8:30 in the morning, and at that point the terrace seats were filled.

This time, I had the “4 kinds of bread set,” which seems to be the signature menu item, and all the breads were very delicious. The quality and level of the bread was very high, which is hard to find anywhere else.
In particular, the “BéBé bread,” which bears the name of the store's bread, had a unique softness and texture that gave me a feeling I had never had before. The price was 800 yen while enjoying such a wide variety of breads at once. I think it is a very good value.
I would go there again if I have a chance, or even if I don't, I will make an opportunity to go there again.

Note

Depending on the time of day, you may have to wait quite a while to get in.
In that case, it would be better to give up and take out the bread and enjoy it at home.
